Rockwool Panel Joint Installation Guide

Joint installation guide: tongue-and-groove, male-female and centre-aluminium joints for rockwool panels, in company wording without added dimensions.

Three joints, matched to routes

Machine-made rockwool panels use a tongue-and-groove joint, in which each panel's tongue enters the next panel's groove along a straight run. Handmade rockwool panels use a male-female joint, or a centre-aluminium joint in which a full female opening is fitted with a centre-aluminium profile. The joint belongs to the route, and it affects setting out, corner handling and the removal of a single panel later.

Planning a jointed run

Plan straight runs panel by panel, and plan corners, door openings and ceiling junctions separately, because the joint line must be carried around them deliberately. List pre-formed openings and conduit routes for handmade panels with the schedule. This guide gives no fixing spacing or joint tolerance, because the company materials used for this site give none for these joints. Ask for the installation guide for the exact joint type in your inquiry, and see the joint installation page for the checklist version of this guide.
